Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland were left without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the state, bringing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Homeowners observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered power outages after Melbourne recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services received 598 emergency reports across the area, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.
