It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her newest gem.

Then best known as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive instincts take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and after that Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was removed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this World Cup want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a global event as leader.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
