Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Schemers groups.
Fans can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
