Parents of a minor who suffered life-threatening harm after being thrown from the tenth level of the Tate Modern have stated their "brave warrior" has achieved his goal of managing to jump, swim, and run again.

This European child was six years old when he was hurled from a railing by a youth, at that time seventeen.

The boy, who was vacationing with his family in 2019 when assaulted, lived through a 100ft drop but suffered life-changing wounds, like a cranial bleeding and shattered bones.

Parents stated in an update on a fundraising site, they were pleased that he had been successful to progress with his swimming, running and jumping before his next surgery.

"He is unable to do it as other children of his age, certainly, but we are unable to describe his actions in another manner than by calling it's running, jumping, and swimming."

He, who spent many months in critical care, has continued to build cognitive endurance.

Relatives explained although his recall abilities were yet highly constrained, they were functional and improving, so he was "gaining a basic understanding at his speed, which more and more allows him to be integrated with other children."

'Mission Accomplished'

The family continued: "Additionally, he is maturing, and because of his work with the physical therapist, he now allows himself to relax."

Following a legal proceeding at the Old Bailey, the adolescent was found guilty of attempted murder and was imprisoned in 2020 for a minimum of 15 years.
